Crash is a 1996 Canadian-British psychological thriller film written and directed by David Cronenberg based on J. G. Ballard’s 1973 novel. Alliance Comm. Corp., TMN the Movie Network, RPC Rec.

Traumatic events are not necessarily negative.

The word trauma entails adverse or unfavorable connotations, specifies a particular social or natural episode occurred unexpectedly, often out of control, which produced difficult conditions to those who have been subjected to it.

Trauma indeed is usually a sudden action if considered within the natural and social events.

An earthquake, a tornado, a war, are events that affect a community and physically mark urban fabric, bringing a sudden break and determining the change of a stable condition.

For this reason, the trauma inevitably accompanies ” the new”. Somehow you can say that traumatic events are the imminent, the future perspective.Lucio Fontana’s cuts showed a destructive action. Canvas cutting transforming a two-dimensional space in a three-dimensional space entailed the traumatic action modifying itself in a new state. This transformation to the new, with a damaging event, appears in one of the most discussed Cronenberg films, Crash. The destructive momentum in the car accident searching becomes the beginning of a new form, a new aesthetic rather than a devastating event and nothing more.
